With the aim of promoting economic empowerment and self-reliance among rural and tribal women, women farmers associated with WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation from Bokaro and Khunti districts enthusiastically participated in a three-day Mushroom Production and Processing Skill Development Training Programme held in Ranchi.
Organised from 25 to 27 September 2026, the training provided women farmers with scientific and practical knowledge of Oyster and Milky Mushroom cultivation. Participants received hands-on guidance on important aspects of mushroom production, including substrate preparation, spawning, crop management, harvesting, post-harvest handling, and mushroom processing.
The training was not limited to learning mushroom cultivation techniques. It represented an important step towards creating new pathways for self-employment, entrepreneurship, and income generation for rural women. During the programme, participants were also provided with certificates and mushroom spawn, enabling them to initiate mushroom cultivation in their own villages and apply the knowledge gained during the training.
WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation continues to work towards connecting women from rural and tribal communities with skill development, livelihood opportunities, entrepreneurship, and income-generating activities. Through such initiatives, the Foundation aims to strengthen women's economic participation and support them in becoming more confident, skilled, and self-reliant.
WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation is empowering rural and tribal women with practical mushroom cultivation skills, opening new opportunities for self-employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable income generation.
