In another significant step toward promoting scientific agriculture and enhancing farmers’ prosperity, WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation actively supported the successful organization of a Balanced Fertilizer Use Awareness and Farmer Training Program under the “Save the Soil Campaign” in Chaldandu Village, Karra Block, Khunti District, Jharkhand. The program was organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Eastern Research Complex, Hill and Plateau Research Centre, Plandu, Ranchi, with the objective of encouraging sustainable farming practices and improving agricultural productivity.
The program was graced by Dr. Avani Kumar Singh, Director of ICAR, who addressed the participating farmers on the importance of soil health conservation, balanced fertilizer application, and scientific farming practices. He emphasized that the adoption of modern agricultural technologies enables farmers to achieve higher productivity at lower production costs, ultimately improving their income and ensuring sustainable agriculture.
During the technical sessions, Senior Scientist Mr. Virendra Kumar Yadav introduced farmers to the objectives of the project and various modern agricultural technologies designed to enhance farm productivity. He encouraged participants to adopt innovative and science-based farming methods for long-term agricultural success.
Scientist Mr. Ajit Kumar Jha conducted a detailed training session on mushroom cultivation, highlighting its potential as a profitable self-employment opportunity and an additional source of income for rural households. He explained practical techniques for mushroom production and its role in strengthening livelihood security.
The program also featured an expert session by Senior Scientist and Vegetable Science Specialist Dr. Meenu, who guided farmers on advanced vegetable cultivation techniques, balanced nutrient management, pest and disease control, and modern scientific farming practices. The session provided practical knowledge to help farmers improve both the quality and quantity of their agricultural produce.
On behalf of WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation, State Coordinator Ms. Priyanka Kumari informed participants about various Central and State Government agriculture and livelihood schemes and encouraged them to adopt scientific farming methods. She stated that the Foundation is continuously working to empower farmers, women, and rural youth through capacity building, awareness programs, and skill development initiatives. She also reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to organizing similar training and awareness programs in the future.
The program witnessed the participation of District Coordinator Jasinta Gudiya, Block Coordinator Elin Gudiya, Panchayat Mahila Mitra Rekha Devi, Asha Munda, Gram Sakhi Juliyani Tirkey, Phulmani Toppo, Chariya Tirkey, along with a large number of farmers, members of women’s self-help groups, and rural youth, making the initiative a meaningful platform for knowledge sharing and community empowerment.

Under the “Save the Soil Campaign,” WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation collaborated with ICAR to organize a farmer awareness and training program in Chaldandu village, Karra Block, Khunti District.
