Under the Road Safety Month–2026, and in accordance with the directions of the District Transport Department, Simdega, as well as under the guidance of the District Transport Officer, Simdega, a Road Safety Awareness Program was successfully organized in Kolebira Block with the support of WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation. The program was conducted at two prominent locations of the block, namely Bazaar tand and Kolebira Chowk, where a significant number of local citizens, vehicle drivers, commuters, and pedestrians were present.
The primary objective of the program was to sensitize the general public about road safety rules and to encourage safe, disciplined, and responsible traffic behavior in order to reduce road accidents. The initiative focused on building awareness through community engagement and practical demonstrations.
As part of the program, artists invited from Ranchi, Lohardaga, and Simdega districts presented impactful street plays (Nukkad Natak) based on road safety themes. Through these performances, important messages were conveyed in a simple and effective manner, including the mandatory use of helmets and seat belts, avoiding driving under the influence of alcohol, adherence to prescribed speed limits, respect for traffic signals, and adoption of necessary precautions to prevent road accidents. The performances received strong attention from the audience, who were observed engaging seriously with the messages delivered.
From WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation, Team Leaders Shri Ramchandra Ram and Shri Vijay Mahto actively participated in the program, along with Ms. Sarita Devi, Ms. Neeta Kumari, Ms. Gulachho Devi, Shri Salendra Mahto, and Ms. Manti Kumari. The program was further strengthened by the gracious presence and guidance of the State Coordinator, Ms. Priyanka Kumari, whose leadership contributed significantly to the smooth and effective execution of the event.
The program witnessed wide public participation and was conducted in a peaceful, well-organized, and disciplined manner. The joint efforts of the District Transport Department, Simdega, and WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation resulted in a successful awareness initiative that helped foster a positive attitude toward road safety, traffic discipline, and social responsibility among the general public.
Overall, the program proved to be a meaningful step toward building safer roads and promoting responsible road usage within the community.
