In Karra Block of Khunti District, a focused one-day training program for Panchayat Mahila Mitra Block Coordinators was conducted with the objective of strengthening women’s empowerment and grassroots leadership. The training brought together Panchayat Mahila Mitras selected from different Panchayats of Khunti District, providing them with a common platform to learn, share experiences, and build collective strength.
The sessions emphasized the critical role of Panchayat Mahila Mitras in addressing women-centric issues related to education, health, social welfare, and livelihood at the local level. Participants were guided on how to work closely with women’s groups, identify challenges faced by women in their Panchayats, and ensure that information about government schemes, rights, and welfare initiatives reaches the intended beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner.
Special attention was given to leadership development, communication skills, and community mobilization. The training highlighted how confident communication, empathy, and collaboration with local institutions can help Mahila Mitras become a strong support system for women in their Panchayat areas. Practical discussions helped participants understand how to respond to real-life situations, coordinate with relevant departments, and support women in accessing services and assistance.
The training sessions were facilitated by Priyanka Kumari Singh and Elin Guriya, whose field-based insights and participatory approach made the sessions engaging and impactful. Their guidance encouraged participants to work with greater confidence, responsibility, and commitment toward social change.
At the end of the program, the Panchayat Mahila Mitras expressed that the training had strengthened their understanding of their roles and responsibilities. They committed to applying the knowledge gained in their respective Panchayats and to working collectively for the welfare and empowerment of women.
This initiative by WCSF CharitySpirit Foundation reflects a strong commitment to building capable women leaders at the grassroots level.
